India will take on Oman in the AFC U-22 championship qualifiers at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Tuesday at 6.30 pm (IST).
India is in a must-win situation but if India loses or draws, then Arthur Papas and his boys will be out of contention of second round qualification. Also, Iraq needs to win against UAE, but if UAE beats Iraq, then it will be UAE and Iraq who will qualify as the top two teams for the U-22 Asian Cup.
At present, India and Oman have seven points from 4 matches. India is ahead by virtue of better goal difference (+5 in comparison to Oman’s +1).
In the previous match, a confident India piped Turkmenistan, 4-1 at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium in Muscat. The men in blue will look to replicate the same performance in tomorrow’s match.
