The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced on Wednesday that it will set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Goa.
The Centre Of Excellence (CoE) will be similar to the ones in Dubai and Austria, and will be expected to take two years till it becomes fully operational. According to the AIFF general secretary, Kushal Das said that it will be in collaboration with the Goa government and the CoE will be open for national teams and also the age-group squads.
In a press conference, which was attended by Goa sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar, the federation secretary said that the Goa government will provide the land and infrastructure while the AIFF will provide the technical assistance.
The centre will also have the infrastructure to conduct referees and coaching courses. Sports minister, Ramesh Tawadkar also said that the CoE can also be used by national teams of other countries as well so that it can help generate funds like it is being done in Dubai or Austria.
