The All India Football Federation (AIFF) have officially confirmed the exit of Air India and ONGC from next year’s I-League by not inviting them for an important club licensing seminar in Goa on Thursday.
Air India and ONGC are the only two clubs in the I-League who have failed to meet the strict club licensing criteria.
Air Inida is currently in the 12th position with 18 points while Santosh Kashyap’s is in the 7th position with 24 points.
I-League CEO Sunando Dhar spoke to Times of India on Wednesday and said, “The clubs needed some clarifications so we decided a workshop would be the best option. There will be discussions on the timelines and how soon we can complete the formalities.”
