Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all aiming to sign Athletic Bilbao’s Markel Susaeta this summer, according to reports.
Spaniard Susaeta has only got one year left on his contract and, despite being valued at about £15 million, could leave Bilbao for as little as £6 million.
The player is attracting interest from all around Europe but it is the Premier League trio that currently lead the race and all three are on red alert should Susaeta become available.
It was earlier this month that the winger shot to fame when he featured in Bilbao’s impressive demolition of Manchester United in the Europa League.
Susaeta was in sparkling form as the Spanish club won at Old Trafford and again on home soil.
They triumphed again in the first leg of their quarter final tie against Schalke earlier this week, recording a 4-2 victory in Germany. That result leaves them almost certain to qualify for the last four.
But when Bilbao’s European adventure comes to an end, the club could be willing to discuss the transfer of one of their prized assets, as they fear losing him for nothing in 12 months’ time.
