Bajaj Allianz has launched the selection process for its annual Junior Football Camp for the third consecutive year to scout young football talent in the country.
The Camp is organised in association with Allianz, which is the official partner of FC Bayern Munich. The camp in Munich gives teenagers from across the world between the ages of 14-16 years the opportunity to meet and train with the legendary Bayern Munich coaches on the club’s official training ground.
The camp will kick off from June 15 to July 15 and this year, the Bajaj Allianz Football Camp selection process will take place in Bangalore.
From over 700 schools across 120 cities, five teenagers will be selected from all over India for the international football camp to be held in Munich, Germany, in August. In addition, the five young promising footballers will receive training scholarships under the Youth Development Programme of Kolkata giantts, Mohun Bagan.
The camp aims to target 2500 students across 50 top schools in Mumbai. Furthermore, the selection process will also be held in Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kerala, Kolkata and North East. A total of 45,000 players will be targeted during the selection process over the course of the month.
The panel for Bangalore selection trials will consist of, former international footballer Arumainayagam, Karnataka state team coach Dakshana Murthy and Ravibabu, coach of Karnataka U-16 and U-19 State teams.
Teams from top 50 schools from each city will first play at their respective institutions, from where two talented players will be selected. A total of 100 kids will be selected and later be divided in teams and the top 15 will head to Pune for the national final along with youngsters from Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kerala and the North East.
During the National Final, the three most promising players from Bangalore will be awarded cash prizes worth Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively on the basis of their performance.
The selected five will get the opportunity to train under Bayern Munich coaches and meet stars such as Thomas Mueller and Bastian Schweinsteiger among others and also witness a match at the Allianz Arena.
