Former Shillong Lajong FC midfielder Rocus Lamare arrived with his present club, Salgaocar in Shillong this afternoon. The Club is currently in the city to play in the 26th round match of the I-League, which will be held at the J N Stadium, on Friday.
Born and brought up in Shillong, Rocus moved to SLFC from Malki SC, and then joined Mohun Bagan in 2002. A year after, he signed with Salgaocar and since then has been an integral part of the Goan club ,which won the I-League in the 2010-11 season.
Rocus is also a part of the India National Team and it was on August 21st, 2011, that Rocus played his first game for India against Trinidad and Tobago. In the 2011 SAFF Championship, which was won by India,he featured in all five games.
It will be a different “Home” game for Rocus on Friday,when he faces off against his team of yore, in his hometown, and playing in front of the home crowd.
