Dimitar Berbatov scored against his former side Tottenham as Fulha won 1-0 at white Hart Lane on Sunday.
Spurs chances of qualifying to the Champions League took a huge blow after Chelsea beat West Ham to take third place. Andre Villas-Boas’ side have now lost three straight games for the first time under him and are four points above Arsenal having played an extra game.
Gareth Bale was not at his best but Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer made two crucial saves to deny Jermian Defoe. Berbatov scored at White Hart Lane for the first time since his leaving Spurs in 2008.
Berbatov’s fourth goal in his past five matches gave Fulham its first win at White Hart Lane in 10 years and ensured Tottenham dropped a place to fourth following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over West Ham.
It was the first victory at the ground for Fulham manager Martin Jol since being fired as Spurs boss in 2007.
