Football legend Giorgio Chinaglia passed away at the age of 65 due to a heart-attack at his home in Florida on Sunday. He was hospitalised several days ago after suffering from a heart problem.
The footballer, began his career with Swansea Town in 1964 as he moved along with his family to Whales in search of work. He then joined Lazio in 1969 where he spent most of his footballing career. He later became president of Lazio between 1983-85.
In 1972, he was a part of Italy’s National Team and played 14 times for his country,and also took part in the 1974 World Cup.
In 1976, he moved to the US, and joined New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League.
The striker scored 98 goals in 209 games for Lazio, and scored 193 goals in 213 games for New York Cosmos.
Chinaglia leaves behind his wife, Angela, and five children.
