A League Club, Melbourne Heart has appointed former Australia striker John Aloisi as the new coach for the next three seasons.
Aloisi is the only Australian to have played in the world’s big three domestic competitions; the English Premier League, Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s Serie A.
The 36 year old former Australia striker, said that he was very honoured and happy to be appointed as the new head coach of Melbourne FC.
Aloisi is ranked as one of Australia’s most successful football exports, earning 55 caps for the Socceroos and he played for many clubs including Portsmouth, Coventry, Antwerp, Standard Liege and Osasuna.
Aloisi will replace John Van’t Schip in the dugout for next season, and has just one year of coaching experience. He was in charge of the Heart’s youth academy last season and they finished fourth in the National Youth League.
