Samuel James Lyngdoh Kynshi scored his first I-League goal in his very second match appearance of the I-League 2017/18 season against Churchill Brothers last Saturday.
The 17-year-old has now become the youngest player from Meghalaya to score in the Hero I-League and is the fourth youngest player to score in the history of the league joining Samuel Lalmuanpuia (Lajong), Baoringdao Bodo (Minerva Punjab) and Aniket Jadhav (Indian Arrows).
Samuel is from Nongbah Bynther Mairang and joined Shillong Lajong Academy in 2015 at the age of 15. The talented winger was the Lajong captain of the U-18 Shillong Premier League championship team and after delivering an excellent performance in the ongoing Shillong Premier League Super Division, scoring 5 goals in total with the senior team, he deservedly secured a place in the senior I-League squad.
