Rangdajied United FC did not hold back as they pressed forward for the equaliser. They created a few chances but Lajong’s defence was composed enough not to let any goal slip past. Good chances were coming for both teams. The Blues were putting pressure on the Reds defence but Lajong themselves were threatening their opponents on quick counter attacks. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Lajong.
The second half started with the same intensity as the first half with both teams giving their all to get the better of the other. A lot of chances fell for both teams to score in the second half but lacked the clinical finish and did not capitalise on their good chances.
In the 71st minute, Lajong doubled the lead after a brilliant solo run by Bipin on the left who then made a low cross inside the box for Rupert Nongrum to sail it past the goalkeeper.
