Liverpool came from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the Premier League at Villa Park on Sunday.
Christian Benteke had put the home side into the lead with a typically emphatic strike in the first half, but goals from Jordan Henderson and a Steven Gerrard penalty sealed all three points for the Reds.
Villa looked on course for a third successive win after a great finish by striker Christian Benteke. It was his 18th goal of the campaign.
After the break, the visitors kept up the pressure and were soon rewarded with the equaliser when Jordan Henderson scored early in the second half.
And then captain Steven Gerrard’s penalty, half an hour before full-time sealed victory for the visitors after striker Luis Suarez was fouled in the box by Nathan Baker.
The three points for Liverpool keeps alive their faint hopes of securing a Champions League spot.
Villa are level on points with Wigan but have an inferior goal difference.
