Maldives defeated Nepal, 2-1 in the second match of the Nehru Cup football tournament in New Delhi on Thursday.
Within just seven minutes of the game, Abdullah Asadhulla opened the account for Maldives and Easa Ismail doubled the lead in the 77th minute.
Nepal hardly had any chances and could manage only a few long balls in the box.
Jumanu Rai, however, reduced the margin with a good piece of work, but his strike (90+4) came a bit too late for Nepal.
Maldives next play India in their second match on Saturday.
