Manchester City edged closer to title leaders Manchester United and moved within 3 points of their rivals, with an unconvincing 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium, who ,after the game, became the first team from the league to be relegated this season.
City closed the gap on United, with goals coming from Sergio Aguero in the 27th minute, and Samir Nasri in the 74th. The big spending club dominated over their rivals, who were staring at possible relegation, with City having most possession and chances.
It was, though ,an under-rated performance by City’s standards ,and it was the host who looked more organised and precise. But a lovely through ball by Gael Glichy set up Agueros for the lead, and Tevez fed Nasri in almost similar fashion for the second,to put the game beyond doubt and confirmed Wovles relegation. Manchester City will now face off against their arch rivals,Manchester United at The Etihad stadium, in what could be a possible title decider, on April 30th.
