Two late goals by Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young gave Manchester United a 2-0 win at Blackburn on Monday and extended the lead over closest title challengers, Manchester City by five points.
It was Valencia who broke the deadlock with a sharply angled right-foot shot after he ran in from the touchline.
In the 86’, substitute Ashley Young scored the second, spinning the ball with a good effort past Robinson on the edge of the area with only five minutes remaining.
Sir Alex Ferguson made three changes to the squad, with Hernandez, Paul Scholes and Phil Jones replacing Ryan Giggs, Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young.
Steve Kean, however, made only one change to the side with Bradley Orr coming in to replace Mauro Formica.
Blackburn made several attempts to find a goal, but the United defence ensured the Rovers went goalless and the Reds went on to secure all the three points to raise hopes of a record 20th premier league triumph.
