Shillong Lajong Football Club stepped up for society today, the 4th of August on a crisp and bright morning, at the KJP Synod organised marathon, aptly titled “Run Shillong Run”, in Polo. The event is a charity fund raiser for the Mairang Vidya Jyoti Inclusive School, which is a school with a difference, wherein children with and without disabilities are offered inclusive education, together in the same classroom. The school was founded in 2008,with a vision to mete out equal and quality education to every student.
The marathon started at 7am this morning, where in a total of 15 Shillong Lajong FC players, including stars like Renedy Singh, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Govin Singh,Chitrasen and SLFC Juniors also participated in the charity run.
Yaorei Khan Kesar from the SLFC Academy secured the second position in the Junior Category and took home a cash prize of Rs.1500,a Trophy and Vodafone goodies. The occasion was graced by the Honourable Chief Minister Dr.Mukul Sangma and Shri Metbah Lyngdoh.
