After a morale boosting win over Mohun Bagan AC in the opening match of the I-League 2012-13 season, the stage is all set for Shillong Lajong FC, as they take on Salgaocar in their second home game, tomorrow at the JN Stadium Shillong at 2.30PM.
In a pre-match press conference that was held at Hotel Centre Point, Salgaocar Head Coach Karim Bencherifa said that, every season is a big challenge and at present the squad has more than 40 players, out of which 20 are new additions to the squad.
“It is time to get along and adapt to lots of things despite all the problems and challenges. We are hoping to win at least one trophy this season. We are hoping for higher results.
Lajong is known to have a big crowd support and it is a big factor. The climate in Shillong is beautiful for a good game of football”, he added.
Crossing over, Head Coach of Shillong Lajong FC said that, some of the players still have injuries.
When asked how the boys will perform tomorrow, he said, “I expect the same performance from the boys. They were brilliant in the first game against Mohun Bagan.
But the most important thing is that we are a team and it is not about individuals.
The boys are working very hard and the support of the crowd is very important. We need the crowd to stand behind us, win or lose”.
He concluded by saying that tomorrow’s game will be interesting and challenging with both team expecting nothing less than a win.
