The Project Future India Refereeing Course-2013, the second of its kind, kicked-off in Madurai on Thursday (February 14). The Course, a Grassroots Development Project, is being represented by referees nominated by their respective states.
This batch shall be under dedicated Referees Instructors and Fitness Instructors for two years and undergo minimum four training exposures. Referees who show potential for growth after each exposure shall be retained and called for next exposures.
After two years, the best of the lot shall be further nurtured through a top level development project for another two years.
Col Goutam Kar, HOR-AIFF said: “Basically we are looking to create World Class referees. It’s a continuous development project and was launched in India in 2012. In the longer rum many of them will take up refereeing as a full time professional career.”
S Suresh, Anamika Sen and Udayan Halder are the course instructors.
