Pune FC occupies the third place in the I-League standings taking three important points after a comfortable win over Chirag United Kerela at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi on Sunday.
Pune FC’s captain Keita Mandjou scored the first goal in the 4’. Pune dominated the proceedings and netted another excellent strike by Subash Singh in the 6’. Arata Izumi found the third goal for his club in the 39th minute leaving the Kerela side goaless.
The match resulted in a big disappointed for the home crowd mainly in the first half as Keita and Subash were attacking Kerela’s goal area.
Pune held on to their 3-0 lead but were under immense pressure in the second half as CUK pressed on for a comeback.
Pune was dominant throughout except for some defensive errors in the second half where the CUK side could have scored two or more goals putting the visitors in danger but their strikers failed to convert any of those chances.
