Queens Park Rangers are set to leave Joey Barton out of their squad for next season after he was found guilty of two counts of violent conduct.
QPR Captain, Joey Barton, has been banned for 12 matches.
Barton was sent off in QPR’s defeat at Manchester City on the final day of the season and had accepted a charge over his clash with Sergio Aguero in the wake of his red card.
The former City and Newcastle midfielder was handed a four-match ban for his 54th-minute red card, which came after he elbowed Carlos Tevez in an off-the-ball incident, as it was his second dismissal of the season. He was then charged for his actions in the melee that followed, which included kneeing Sergio Aguero and attempting to headbutt Vicent Kompany.
The Football Association has fined the 29 year old midfileder with £75,000 and is to be stripped of the QPR captaincy.
