Royal Wahingdoh blanked Aizawl XI by 3 goals, to keep their quest for 1st Division I-League qualification on track, in what was the outfit’s last match of the Final Round first leg, which was played in Siliguri. Jackiechand Singh, who had a stupendous day on the pitch scored a brace on either side of the break, in the 35th and 80th minute.
After Royal Wahingdoh had taken the lead in the first half, doubled their lead through a scorching Kima strike in the 70th minute. With this win, Royal Wahingdoh now can firmly believe that the I-League is within reach, provided they put up a similar show in all of its matches in the 2nd leg.
Presently, Royal Wahingdoh is at 4th place in the points table with 10 points from 6 games. They will be travelling to Gangtok, for the 2nd leg, where they will take on United Sikkim, on the 30th of March.
