Shillong I-League aspirants Royal Wahingdoh, are all set to march on towards their aim for getting a spot in top flight Indian football, after defeating Aizawl FC by 2 goals to 1.
In form striker Jackiechand Singh netted a brace for the Royals, after conceding a goal as early as the 11th minute. However the Shillong outfit made a strong comeback after trailing behind. Jackiechand teamed up with Chencho, and the duo proved to be a thorn in Aizawl’s defence, combining together in the 15th and 48th minute to secure the win for Royal Wahingdoh.
Royal Wahingdoh are now at the top of the table, after having defeated Sikkim United 2-0, in their first game of the Final round. The team has now taken 16 points from 8 games, with 5 wins, and with this kind of form, it is only a matter of time for their confirmation into the I-League’s next season.
