Steve Kean will continue as manager for Blackburn Rovers despite the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
The 44-year-old, who flew to India for several days of talks with Venky’s at the end of the season, will be given the chance to try and lead Blackburn back to the Premier League after the team was relegated following a disastrous 2011-12 season, and will be looking to replicate his performance at Fulham when he lead them back to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, former Malaysian defender and football expert, Shebby Singh, has been appointed as their new global advisor. The decision to appoint Singh was taken by the club’s Indian owners Venky’s.
The Indian-origin former footballer became well known while appearing as an expert for broadcaster ESPN for their coverage of international tournaments.
Shebby Singh, said, Kean will be given funds to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season and will be going nowhere – for now.
