The I-League returns to Shillong, when Shillong Lajong Football Club host Santosh Kashyap’s side ONGC on the 7th of April, Sunday which will be played under the newly inaugurated floodlights at the JN Stadium Shillong at 5PM. This will mark the first I-league home game under lights for Shillong Lajong FC and its thousands of supporters, who are expected to come out in large numbers to support their Club.
Portuguese sensation Edinho Junior who is on loan from Blackburn Rovers will be making his much awaited home game debut on Sunday. The 18 year old striker produced a memorable debut performance by scoring a brace against an in-form Pune FC on 24th March at the Balewadi Stadium, Pune and will look to leave a mark at home too. The Portugese himself could not hide the excitement, when he quoted in a recent interview, “I can’t wait for the moment of playing at home in front of a huge crowd and if I score the first goal, I will dedicate it to the Shillong fans. I want to play and bring joy to these fantastic fans.
After a long 45 days I-League break, the Reds has been on an unbeaten run of sorts under the guidance of Thangboi Singto, playing a 2-2 draw against the “Red Lizards” Pune FC and another see-saw 2-2 draw against the “Mariners” Mohun Bagan AC.
The tickets for the next home game will be on sale from Thursday onwards and has been priced as follows.
