Tottenham have completed the signing of Ezekiel Fryers from Standard Liege.
The former Manchester United footballer trained with Tottenham during the summer after leaving Old Trafford but with concerns over a £6m compensation package, a permanent deal never materialised.
Fryers then joined Liege but after making seven first team appearances for the Belgian side, the 20-year-old has returned to the Premier League in a deal reportedly worth £3m.
A statement on the Tottenham website read: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Standard Liege for the signing of Zeki Fryers.
“The young defender, capped by England at Under-16, 17 and 19 level, began his career at Manchester United before joining Standard Liege last summer.
“Zeki will link up with the club’s development squad.”
